Do you love protein? Well, why not? I haven’t eaten meat for years but my mouth still waters at just the thought of a bacon double cheese burger.

Protein is good for you. It burns fat and it builds muscle. But you need to get it from the right place

But cheese burgers, steaks, pork chops and bacon are not the only places to get protein. Not only can you get protein from vegetables, the protein you get from them is better for you. New research says that for people who are trying to lose weight the bulk of their protein should come not from meat, but from vegetables.

Not a lot of protein but they do give you all nine essential amino acids. Great for building muscle. They cook nicely but I prefer to grind them up and eat them raw.

They have these in the frozen foods section at Safeway and they are just super microwaved. Also rich in amino acids.

Weight Loss Protein Vegetable #3 Hemp Seed

7 grams of protein in 2 tablespoons

No you won’t get addle headed and paranoid if you eat this. Hemp is a close cousin to marijuana but it is not intoxicating. These will not only give you vegetable protein they’ll also help you fight heart disease because they are very high in Omega-3s.

I put them in my bullet blender, break them up and sprinkle on my morning cereal. Tastes good!

Buckwheat is packed with fiber and a 1/2 cup will give you 1/2 your daily dose of magnesium.

No need for the bullet this time. Just cook it and eat it with some honey or make Buckwheat pancakes.
